CapFigure is proud to announce the establishment of a new contributor page. Long-time friend & die-hard MLB fanatic “JD” will be posting his picks based on Vegas odds for MLB games throughout the season. Without further ado, here are JDs thoughts for today:
Chicago White Sox (AL) at New York Mets (NL)
1:10 PM (EST)
Probable Starters
M. Gonzalez (0-1 W/L – 4.50 ERA – 1.54 WHIP)
J. DeGrom (3-1 W/L – 2.81 ERA – 1.19 WHIP)
St. Louis Cardinals (NL) at Milwaukee Brewers (NL)
1:40 PM (EST)
Probable Starters:
J. Garcia (4-4 W/L – 3.47 ERA – 1.20 WHIP)
Z. Davies (2-3 W/L – 5.40 ERA – 1.50 WHIP)
JDs Pick Methodology
Today the Mets and Cardinals are my picks, both teams play daytime games. The Mets are -180 currently with the Cardinals sitting at -170. With the money line being pretty high I like to parlay these teams so my return is substantially better. While my risk increases, I’d rather not pay so much per each bet individually. I like the Mets to not lose the series at home to a White Sox team that has been struggling and, I feel, over-achieved the first six weeks of the season. DeGrom has been trending up along with his velocity and command. The Cardinals offense has come alive the last two weeks scoring double digit runs on multiple instances. The Cards always play well at Miller Park and with J. Garcia being the soft tossing lefty that he is, I think he will leave Brewer hitters off balance and guessing most of the game. $20 parlay bet will yield $29.41.
